East Midlands based publisher The Worm that Turned Ltd has received the prestigious Gold Award from the Parents Information Network (PIN) for its Glub the Sub Watery World Activity Fun Pack.
The CD-ROM full of puzzles and games had already received a mark of approval from PIN for its entertaining nature and educational value, and now the Activity Fun Pack has been awarded the PIN Gold Quality mark.
“Awarded in recognition of its high production values and strong appeal for young children, Glub the Sub’s Activity Fun Pack has a great range of activities presented through bright, colourful and engaging design. This is also reflected in the printed materials accompanying the software, which are full of even more activities for children to do away from the computer” commented Jackie Disney, Director of PIN.
The Activity Fun Pack is a bright, colourful, child friendly file and features a 200 screen interactive CD-ROM, plus 13 “make and do” activity sheets. The Watery World Activity Fun Pack offers a wide variety of early learning activities. The software is designed as an interactive puzzle book and encourages children to develop essential skills by learning through play. When away from the computer the make and do activities provide further skill building fun such as an underwater theatre, a holiday photoframe and a treasure map game. The Activity Fun Pack supports the National Curriculum Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.
Stuart Isbister MD comments “We set out to develop a product that offered value for money to the consumer. Unlike the big boxes full of air that adorn most software shelves, Glub the Sub’s Activity Fun Pack offers a wealth of activities for £25 in a re-useable folder. We are delighted this product has received such an important award.” |
