In excess of £7000 for Rainbow Hospice and other local children’s charities has been raised as a result of The Park Estate Open Gardens festival held on the 17th May. The event was first conceived in 1985 and now runs bi-annually. 18 gardens were open to the public and over 1000 attended the event. This year the refreshments were sponsored by The Worm that Turned, Nottingham most stylish garden retailer.
The Worm that Turned ran a competition in conjunction with the event which attracted over 400 entries. The winner, Jacqui Heaton of Long Eaton, collected her prize of Luxury Wicker Picnic Hamper from Heather Isbister of The Worm that Turned and Lynette Luxton of the Park Open Gardens committee, on Thursday 30th June at the shop on 120-2 Derby Road.
