Thyme is a classic herb for the kitchen garden, it is a perennial plant and was originally introduced to the UK by the Romans. Thyme from Provence is one of the most renowned varieties of this herb and is perfect to be used in cooking whether seasoning meat, fish or soups.
Sow it from March to June and is it ready to be harvest in summer, the herb prefers light soils, in partial shade. It is happy being kept as a pot plant.
Keep it near your back-door or on a balconies or patios where you can easily brush past it and smell its aromatic fragrance.
