Fake & Fraudulent Discount Codes

As a growing brand, we’re aware that third-party websites often list so-called 'discount codes' for The Worm that Turned that are not genuine. These sites often publish automatically generated or “guessed” codes that have never been created or approved by us.

To help you shop with confidence, here’s everything you need to know:

Why these voucher-code sites appear

Voucher-code websites often collect information from around the internet and publish it without checking its accuracy for their own mendacious ends. Discount codes shown on these sites may be:

  • Completely fabricated.
  • Expired - often decades ago.
  • Issued for a one-off use only.
  • Intended for private events or internal promotions.

Although these sites can look trustworthy, they are not associated with us in any way.

How to know if a code is genuine

We use such codes rarely. A promotion code is likely to be genuine if it meets one of the following:

  • It has been shared directly by The Worm that Turned via email, our website or our social channels and you know the expiry date.
  • It appears within an official The Worm that Turned promotion or campaign.
  • It is part of a verified partnership we have announced.

If a code has not come from us through one of these channels, it is unlikely to work at checkout.

Why your code may not be accepted

Our discount codes typically have specific conditions. A code may not work because:

  • The minimum spend has not been met.
  • Certain products or brands are excluded (for example, items already on offer).
  • Certain products are not in your basket and the code requires it.
  • The code is limited to one use per customer and has already been used.
  • The promotion has expired.

In some cases, the code may simply never have been issued by us, even if it appears on a voucher-code website.

Staying safe online

We want your experience with us to feel effortless and secure. To protect yourself from misleading information online:

  • Only trust codes published directly by The Worm that Turned.
  • Be cautious of websites promising “secret” or unusually high discounts that seem too good to be true.
  • Carefully examine the site offering the code and imagine that you are the brand trying to get a code removed.  Is it free and easy to do that?
  • Enter in the title of the website and the word 'scam' into your browser and look at the results.
  • Avoid entering personal details on sites that seem unrelated to your order.

If you are ever unsure about a code, our team is here to help.
