The Messina parasol by Skagerak are timeless and classic. Built using long-lasting materials and with a classic design, these parasols will protect you from the sun and let you relax comfortably through hot summer days for many years to come.
Choose from 3 sizes, with a choice of plain and striped fabrics.
The smallest size 210cm has a tilting mechanism 45degrees, making it perfect for smaller gardens or balconies.

With regard to caring for your parasol, we would recommend leaving the umbrellas open to dry in the summer. This prevents fold marks that can occur if the umbrellas are left closed in the garden without a cover on.

Pole Diameter for Messina Parasol 210cm and 270cm is 3.8cm.
Pole Diameter for Messina Parasol 300cm is 4.8cm.
Pole and frame are made from Kapur wood.
The parasol pole is one complete pole.
Opening of the parasol by a double-pulley system.
Fabric is teflon treated, which makes it water and dirt repellent.
Fabric is not waterproof.
Fabric has UV-protection UPF50+, the maximum sun protective rating achievable for fabric.
We recommend a parasol base of at least 30kg for 210 and 270cm parasol.
We recommend a heavy parasol base of at least 50kg for 300cm parasol.
Cleaning and maintenance:
If the fabric becomes dirty, try to remove the dirt with a brush or damp cloth. Washing is not recommended as this will damage the teflon treatment and the fabric may shrink.
Winter storage: During winter it is advisable to store the parasol fabric in an unheated room such as a garage or cellar. To avoid marks and stains it is important to ensure that the fabric is completely dry before storing.
Kapur Wood: The Kapur wood comes from Indonesia and is FSC 100% certified. Kapur is a strong, durable type of wood – making it the perfect choice for parasol poles.
Cleaning the wood pole:
Use soapy water and wipe with a dry cloth or use suitable furniture cleaner for outdoor use.

Please note that if your order includes any Skagerak cushions, these are a bespoke made-to-order item which have a longer lead-time of 4-6 weeks. Normally we would get the furniture to you first, with the cushions sent to follow unless you are happy to wait.
